Obama made the rule, but it was primarily enforced for people who kidnapped children to use them to cross the border. The other exception is if the kids were showing significant signs of abuse. Otherwise, they'd just turn them around and walk them back across the border.
Trump made it a zero tolerance policy and has been taking children away from families, using kidnapping children as a deterrent. He's institutionalized kidnapping for political power. I DON'T CARE IF THEY BROKE THE LAW, FUCK HIM AND FUCK THIS POLICY. MAYBE THE NEXT TIME YOU BREAK THE LAW, WE SHOULD TAKE YOUR KIDS.
