I would say they are, but this is an assumption as I don’t have any sources. Conservatives are generally rural people, more in touch with the outdoors. Liberals are urban dwellers that think everyone not living in their city is inferior to them.

In the southeast, I remember everyone being a natural outdoorsman, everyone loved to fish, do birdwatching, targetshooting, etc.

True. I've never seen a non-white in the forest in my life. It's interesting how they just don't seem to stand rural areas with woods. During the migrant crisis government tried to spread them around through opening reception centers in backwoods too, but they just had to get to more developed areas the first chance they got.

To be honest, I'm not comfortable anywhere that's not wooded. I lived in Kentucky for a few years and drove through Indiana and Illinois corn country and it made me uneasy. My stress level shot up just driving though an area with no trees all the way to the horizon. It's unnatural and frightening to me.
