Why do people declare the “consciousness” and “self awareness” as one of the greatest indicators of intellece. According to scientist a monkey can’t recognize itself in a mirror so therefor it isn’t aware that it’s alive. But who's to say that the sensation of life isn’t one of the most basic qualifying features of what makes the difference between the living and the unliving? There’s no meter you can put on how lucid a creature is. How do we know trees aren’t secretly the most advanced life form with an underground chain of knowledge channeling throughout their roots but we just wouldn’t know because they don’t have the same brain as us?
