I spent most of my 20s living away from my home town for graduate school. One of the things I did not anticipate was how all your social contacts dry up when you move back to your home town after messing around with travel and all of this career hack BS. No one told me that I would become a loner in my 30s.
Does this experience sound familiar? What are ways of rekindling a psychologically healthy social life in your 30s and onwards?
One of the factors I fear is how I have pulled out of social media. I refuse to use Facebook and I refuse to publish personal information about myself on the web.
