I hardly believe the country would have been affected the same way with a different man in charge. Fascism is clearly an outdated ideology nowadays and definitely wouldn't work again even if it were forced upon us. The Ventennio isn't seen positively because of fascism, but rather due to Mussolini's economical and educational reforms which brought the country to its feet after nearly a century of internal conflicts and a number of communist terroristic incidents. That being said, oddly enough some manholes in my hometown in Apulia still bear the Fascio Littorio, the government didn't even bother to replace them one way or the other which pisses off the newest generations but doesn't faze the elderly at all.
Mussolini was a wholesome leader until 1935.

Also after looking at fascist ideas they had very modern ideas which I really like, although it is hard to learn about fascism for an american because a lot of it is biased or feels the need to paint it's policies in a bad light and lie.

I could give it a shot, but timing subs is beyond me at the moment. The newer generations are taught to despise fascism since their middle school years because teachers usually teach them only the bad side of fascism and the few individuals who turn out to have different opinions are often ignorant edgelords who would unironically leave the country in the hands of fascist wannabe movements like Casa Pound, so the chances of having someone who truly grasped the benefits and downsides of fascism are scarce. I'm not a history know-it-all, but I find it sad that to this day people are still relying on fringe political movements. Since I moved to Tuscany I started to notice communist propaganda in large amounts to the extent that university students are handing out communist events flyers and bookshops windows are crammed with communist related books. I'd probably catch everyone's eyes if I'd even think of bringing to class anything that would remind someone about fascism. If one thing is allowed but the other isn't we're far from being a free country.

yeah I don't know why socialism is so popular now a days, I think that trying to make everyone equal is a terrible solution to the truth that not everyone is equal, but I'm biased because I've never experienced a socialist country so I wouldn't know what it's like, still though it's whatever.
