seems doable, but I havent done this in forever. insert equation for between 0 and 1 and integrate. you get t*e^x-e^t . if you insert the boundaries you get (x-1)*e^x+1. do the same with the other equation but add 1 since (x-1)*e^x+1 = 1 if x is 1. now you have g(x). now look where dg(x)/dx is 0. thats your minima/maxima. insert the values you for x in g and take the difference. that difference should be ae+b..... . now you just have a single equation left to reform.

It's too late.
I never got an A grade in school (only for computer science which was piss easy) and frequently got Ds/Cs despite studding for long periods of time.

Just never understood the concepts, so how will I problem solve which is even harder?

got my master in applied mathematics ( specialization in actuarial ) last year .
