>friend has lived in this town his entire life; knows everything there is to know about this place
>apparently he's lived in the same house since he was a kid, and took over the house from his parents not long ago when one of them died and the other went to a retirement home
>decide to move in with him to lessen the cost of rent and utility bills
>be standing on street outside our flat, along with my friend and a third flatmate
>the three of us are casually talking about random stuff
>friend and the other flatmate start talking about a murder that took place outside that house years earlier

>"yeah a guy got stabbed and killed right outside this house back when I was a kid"
>friend points at an innocent-looking point on the footpath
>"that's where he died. I came outside and saw him lying there dying but the ambulance arrived too late"
>mfw somebody got killed right outside the house I'm now living in
>mfw both my friend and the other flatmate seem to think of it as just another occurence
>mfw later find out that this town has a history of serial killers, very few of which have actually been identified and caught
>mfw so many murders have been documented in this town
>mfw it's still happening; a dead body was found in this town about 1 year ago, and appeared to be a murder victim. Nobody has been charged with that murder, too.
