>>6839796The chimney sweep comes just for the inspections since my dad cleans the chimney and he doesn't even go on the chimney because he doesn't bring a ladder with him. So he just asks a few questions (he's cool, he doesn't take a lot of time), prints out a list of the things that are wrong and are supposed to be fixed until the next time (same list every time) and gives the receipt. It's a formality, they have all kinds of stupid rules they (and we) have to follow in case the inspection did its rounds or if something went wrong but in general it's retarded just like everything the state comes up with. Apparently our stove is too close to wooden stairs, the pipe would according to regulations need another turn and have an in-built door for cleaning (not like we take the pipes off when cleaning the chimney and clean them separately) and the most stupid new thing they came up with, we apparently need a detector for CO2 or something.
One time when nobody was home, the chimney sweep left a receipt for our workshop where there's not even a chimney but my dad went to the city and intimidated the losers at the offices to have the receipt written off.
Don't get me started on the people who take care of the municipal roads.
