>>6906706Well thats war for you. Especially WW1 style trench warfare without movement and constant random shelling from both sides.
Also I dont feel too bad since they were essentially besieging luhansk, where its still difficult to find enough food, water and medicine due to the multiple year blockade. They werent exactly the good guys there...
>>6906707Haha 1k is waay way too much. Ive been to ukraine myself (only for vacation though) and with that kind of money you can live like a literal king in kyiv or lwow.
Nah, for azov it was 100% for fun or for ideology (he is a classic /pol/tard, edgy racist humor to the max but was married to an african woman^^). They didnt get any money at all, but after their service they got a piece of land each, directly on the frontlines, so if the war ever ends he has a decent plot or land there now. In the middle of nothing and if he ever wants to do some gardening hed probably find bones and/or duds with every shovel...
Right now there is a deal with the UA government though, where you can legally serve in the army as a foreigner (azov is paramilitary so joining them is a warcrime already) and get paid 500€ for frontline duty and 300€ for relaxation at the rear, in a two week rotation. Thats decent in Ukraine (like average salary or somewhere in that neighborhood) but since you dont spend money on rent or food it is quite a bit.
