Learn to stalk early. Find prey that are easy to tackle (should be fairly easy if you go for women shorter than you that are clearly lighter in weight). You have to develop a keen sense for when you're being watched as well, you don't want a situation where you get caught by a prying eyes.
Eventually you'll get your first Target and she'll be worth it. Take her out quickly and easily. If you're want to kidnap her as a hostage, make sure she's comfortable enough to develop Stockholm Syndrome. If you're just in it for the rape and murder, make sure to segment her body and dispose of them in ways that can't be traced (pigs, shredding her body and using it as fishing bait, baking it into food, etc).
Lastly, wipe your brain clean of morality (when it comes to human lives, anyway). You aren't going to need it!
