>>6971438Your eyes are supposed to be able to discern the distances between objects, and given that information, your brain is supposed to be able to discern how to perceive the image your eyes are giving it. But when you look at the horizon, the distances between the edge of the land, the sky itself, and any clouds or objects in the sky; are difficult for your brain to accurately judge the distance between. The result is that it appears to be more of a 2D image. But when you look at, say, your bedroom, every object in it, including the farthest objects (which would likely be either a wall, window, or something outside viewable within a window), each object is close enough that your brain can very accurately judge the distances between each object, and can therefore present your perception with a fairly accurate 3D representation of whatever is in front of you. It all has to do with not just the distance between objects, but the relativity of the distance between those objects to you.
