>>7026315sunflower. and i'm not sure if it's too hot or not hot enough. but to make good fries, you're supposed to fry them twice. once at a lower temperature for a few minutes, dry them off, drain the oil and then put them back in at a higher temperature. but the shitty hotplate i have can't be set at 100 degrees and then at 190 or whatever, it just has vague number settings from 1 to 6.
>>7026300isn't mushroom and egg breakfast fried? anyway, deepfrying is great when you want to be a degenerate or cook for company, because you don't have to sit around the kitchen babysitting the food and constantly flipping it or moving it around. just plop whatever it is in and come back in 10 minutes to check on it. also you can fry a lot of food in one pot of oil
>>7026345today i read a post on /ck/ by some dude who got a big layer of lard when making beef stock. that honestly seems like a good way to get animal fat because occasionally i get the urge for veal soup and the fat does coagulate at the top. i don't think i've ever cooked with animal fat, except for fatty pieces of pork being fried in their own fat
