I understand to a degree what the best route to take to get to zone, how to flank opponents, and positioning. I've also played alot of chess which improved strategy. This improved my deduction on how to read my enemies, how to push, retreat, and somewhat helped in building.
Besides chess there isn't a game I've played or I can think of that would have helped my building, and that's why I think Fortnite is so unique. No other game previously has had building and that's why I think Fortnite will be a huge game for years to come.
