On top of it, she equates going to therapy (for him) to wiping your ass (for her), correctly describing it as a insignificant, nearly automatic act of hygiene on his part; Rick has never demonstrate a lack of understanding about himself, and consistently demonstrates a deep love for and equal hatred of himself that seems typical of his feeling towards everyone he considers worth even acknowledging. Rick finally went to the therapist's office because be had "eight minutes to live" without the serum (as he said to Jaguar), and Beth was there with a syringe of it, not because he'd finally decided he needed to be part of their conversation. Just because Susan Sarandon read Dr. Wong's dialogue as if she'd revealed something profound doesn't mean that that's what happened, no more than if someone who makes a bad joke, but with an inflection that purports it to be funny actually becomes funny.
