I'm thinking about DMing a game for some close friends and me but have no experience DMing or playing D&D at all other than a couple weekends where I knew literally no rules

I'm somewhat familiar now after watching some campaigns etc, and I have the DM's handbook, but is there anything I should know before roping them all into this?
