What are you drinkin?

I'm going to a company christmas party tonight at a bar/restaurant. My social skills are trash. Should I get a little prebuzzed to ease the anxiety of the first hour? It looks like it's going to be a little upscale this time and they probably won't be chugging beers like a previous year, so I'll look weird if I'm downing stuff fast alone. And what are some popular mixed drinks you'd recommend?
