because it's somewhat vague and not always easy to prove; it basically is only argued one way or the other as supplementary evidence. imo nurture >>>>>> nature, though. Rising above your innate nature is part of being human.

confirmation bias. "I had no issues gaining these skills, so you won't either." I believe that most people can gain extreme skills if they just work hard at it, though. Maybe more than the average talented individual, but hey, it's fun to be the underdog, too.
