Utena is quite complex for an anime, it’s based on Hermann Hesse, takes a lot from philosophy and Greek theatre and uses a wide range of artistic themes and metaphors. It basically the most /lit/ anime there is, which why I like it so much. It is quite a sad show as well, focusing on loneliness and desire. Just fucking watch it. There is also a faggot pedophile who fucks a kid, he gets a whole arc if you are interested.
