>>7207180. There are many reasons why I would enjoy communism compared to capitalism. I'll detail them here.
1. automation won't be a bad thing, In capitalism automation causes people to lose jobs and it can lead to economic depression because people lose their jobs due to the increased efficiency, which leads to a decrease in spending power, which leads to people not being able to take advantage of the increased productivity from the robots (except for the business owners ). In communism you would just have to work less when things are automated.
2. There won't be any market crashes because it doesn't run on a market. (pretty self explanatory )
3. People have direct control over the workplace, In communism the workplaces will be collectivized and the people who work there will be able to directly control the way they are run through voting. This would lead to less people feeling like they have shitty jobs because the workplaces will exist for the worker and not for profit. When you contrast this with capitalism where the workplace is controlled by a strict hierarchy of managers and CEOs , the worker has comparatively less freedom in the workplace.
4. It would help solve things like world hunger and shelter crises . We are producing enough food to feed everybody in the world and yet 1.3 billion are starving. If everything was distributed more equally then this wouldn't be a problem. We also have enough houses to house every homeless person, but people are still spending their nights in the freezing cold. The only reason these problems aren't solved is because it is not profitable to solve them. Because the capitalist mode of production prioritizes profit over all else (which is ensured by competition), It fails to address these problems very well.
