I have been watching random documentaries about the UK lately. Shit about fat people, drug addicts, criminals. spoiled kids and parents that rot their kids teeth by giving them too much candy
"which seems way more common in the UK compared to the US"
Really just Social and Urban decay stuff... But one thing i realized is that everyone from the UK seems to understand Americanized English, yet few Americans can't really understand alot of Brits or Scots.
This got me into delving into even more obscure UK documentaries about random shit just to see if i could actually understand what was being said. As time went on i realized that most of the people in the UK cant even understand each other. Its very common in the subtitles of UK documentaries to write:
>inaudible
Implying that not even the person writing the subtitles can understand them. This is fairly rare in the US. Really the only ppl in the US that cant hardly speak english are the Cajuns for obvious reasons and the Blacks ebonics..
So just curious can UK anons enlighten me, how common is it for you to not even understand the people around you? Even in everyday converrsation.
