What would happen if you got an infection with NO immune system? I know all symptoms are just an immune reaction to an infection, so what would happen if there was no immune system and no reaction? Would you just turn necrotic and die?

I'm more curious about what specifically a bacteria/virus does in your body when unabated by the immune system. I know you would die, but /why/, does the virus directly harm healthy cells? Produce some sort of toxin?

Viruses make it so your cells spend all their energy and resources to create more viruses . So they will die because they are no longer preserving themselves. I know some viruses make the cells fill themselves with viruses until they explode and spread everywhere

no. it would be like popcorn. It would just be a bunch of small explosions at very different times. also freezer burn is caused by the expansion of water turning into ice .so it would be kind of like that
