You're rolling the dice and hoping for good results despite knowing how high your chance is of failing. But, in this particular game of dice, there's nothing stopping you from trying to rig the roll. While you aren't fast enough to stop the dice from landing, you can mitigate some of the risks or consequences of failure through careful planning. Sure, if you go all in, you may gain it all, but you also stand the risk of losing everything, i.e. your morale. So, you control the amount you allocate to each bet and set yourself up for a series of tiny but assured victories as opposed to a death or glory, all or nothing situation. This is just how I see it.
