another reason i think is that the WW see the junk and live, laugh, love shit they have as part of thier identity (another thing never attacked i their lives) and so they become defensive. the majority of the tweets i have seen about Marie Kondo since the netflix show have been by women railing against her idea of getting rid of books that don't bring them joy, and keeping just a small amount of books which you value. the women on twitter seem outraged by this, and i would guess it is because they imagine that displaying the books they have read, or just own, helps in their identity, helps to add validity to the way they present themselves to the world.
western women are about show, and by showing less perhaps they worry that they will have to back themselves up with actual value instead of perceived value via objects.
mainly though it is, imo, because white women are slobs and happy to be so, they don't want thier mothers telling them to wise up, they don't want men telling them to wise up and they certainly don't want Japanese MILF doll with a perfect life telling them to wise up.
tldr: self-esteem and envy
