Lads I obviously can't go into full detail and I don't know if my friend is innocent but I have decent reason to believe he's been falsely accused and I know who would do it.

He spent the night in jail but is now staying at another friend's house, on the condition he has no phone and no one visits. I know who would do this to him, but not being able to know anything about what's going on is tearing me apart. What does it mean that he didn't have to stay in jail?
