I grew with CFL lights before when I was much younger and I did it without stretching. Your plants are stretching way, way too much.

Being inside a white enclosure will reflect the light, making it a much more efficient grow space. Is your LED light like on the fucking ceiling or something? After topping it move it to maybe half a foot above the top of the plant, then slowly move it up the closer your plant creeps towards it.

Nah man, I wasn't looking for light advice. I was pretty noob when I started and didn't trim at all before starting flower cycle.

I keep my LED 45cm above the topmost leaves and adjust the height every Friday when I put in nutrients.

What I wanted to ask is how long should it be before they start showing sex clearly.

I can see very small things starting to form where the flowers should be after 2 weeks in flower cycle (4 weeks veg). but not clear enough for me to tell sex.

Why did you start the flowering cycle before knowing the sex? You will clearly see pistils in the veg state after 4-6 weeks on the meristem.

Look where those big fan leaves at the top are connected to the main stem. You should see female preflowers. They're very small pistils.

Because my friend told me they were already too big and will just get too huge if I don't start flowering now. And I think he was right.

They can probably handle the light being closer now that they are a bit older?
There isn't a lot of info on LED grow lights out there and all of them are different, I just followed the manufacturer's guideline on 45 cm above.

YOu really want at least 4 plants for the big 1000w lights. But, you have to use the 1000w lights.

I did a side by side vegging under a 400 and a 1000. 1000 had twice as thick stems and was about 5 inches taller.'

Oh that's right. I forgot that the mirrors on telescopes are all painted white rather than vapor deposited aluminum because of white paints superior reflectivity. And did you know that the shuttle astronauts had to repaint the Hubble telescope's mirror every time they went to go service it. Are the fans for cooling the lamp or do they do some good for the plants?

Can confirm mildew. I tried growing tomatoes in an all glass pool house that had high humidity. Mildew killed them within two weeks.

If you're really careful you can get some good bud from pure CFL lights. The trick is though to have lots of bulbs and keep them as close to the plant as possible, also you need a different wavelength for flowering.

I don't smoke or grow anymore but I grew White Widow #5(bagseed from white widow, was just a guess that it was #5) with CFLs in a little white box. It was super high quality as well, strongest weed I ever smoked and I smoked everything from Northern Lights to Blue Domina to White widow/rhino.
