A lack of respect is a big thing with a lot of parents. A lot of parents refuse to give respect back because they feel like it’s not the way things are done, completely ignoring the fact that they’re alienating their children in doing so. This obviously causes a gap in understanding that makes it impossible for parents to relate to their children. So in short form, yeah, it’s a sucky thing that’s more common than you’d hope.
