It's about what I don't want to told to do. Also if nobody can ever tell you what to do about certain shit because freedoms then the wrong people can't get control of it. When a freedom goes away someone has to control that thing now and it's not likely to be <your political party> forever, later it could be used to justify why you are not allowed to speak out against something you disagree with. Or more than likely something totally intolerable to everyone, like being forced to draw a lottery to see who gets sterilized for life by the state because muh overpopulation.
You have to realize that law operates on precedent alone, not logic or compassion.
