Question for the Germans on this board. I plan on touring Germany next year and I can somewhat hold a conversation in German but I plan on trying local restaurants and I wasn’t sure if tipping is seen as rude. I know in Italy it is but according to google it says to tip generally 10%. Is that correct?

It’s not that I mind tipping it’s just that I remember a story about a guy in Italy who tipped and it made national news because of how offended the server was and I don’t want to be villianized cause I tipped a guy an extra 4€
