>>7473882>So what’s going down in Italy? We're trying to stop migrants from invading our country but it's only working so-so.
Also, Salvini (our Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister) secretely has mixed feelings about stopping the migrant flow, or at least some people seem to think so. The reason is that so long as he can trump up the "migrant emergency" card he can get more and more support from the Italians (that's how his electoral campaign played out last year). At any rate Salvini took away "humanitarian protection" for migrants who don't qualify for refugee status, and in this way he can create a new perceived emergency since nowadays there are many more migrants on the street since Salvini kicked them out from their shelters (where people could not see them and so there was no perceived migrant emergency).
Salvini looks like an idiot but in truth he is quite smart and I wonder just how much he will grow in the polls.
