>>7508410I switched around a bit between the different MIDI players in PrBoom-plus and sure enough they sound a bit different. Honestly, I think the default (SDL) sounds pretty good, having listened to all the available ones. There are 4 different ones here (in PrBoom-plus): sdl, fluidsynth, opl2 and portmidi.
Try GZDoom and look at the settings there. I'm not familiar with GZDoom as I use Linux, but I'm sure it's at least as flexible as PrBoom-plus. There are also other engines you can use.
