I understand what you mean by too cozy and complacent, and too weak to do the morally justified thing, such as protect oneself from a criminal invader in one's home or in public. It would be great if you are able to leave Poland for somewhere you want, like the USA, but even if you are not able to, I encourage you to try to be of good cheer, and a positive role model for your relatives, as well. I live in a very left wing city in California, and I know how bad societies can be, so against Christ's ways. For now, I know it's too bad, but I'll have to leave for somewhere now in real life.
