>>7521396I'm not too sure. Some jobs offer packages with better coverage (usually union or well paying tech jobs at least) but I don't have a job like that. Everyone gets provincial coverage though which covers most hospital related things, although certain medications you either have a deductible or you have to pay for yourself, but I've never had anything I needed to deal with that for so I'm not familiar with the specifics.
As far as cons to it, I can say that waiting times for care can get pretty extended, often leading to people getting complications and ending up in the EW because the hospitals are desperate to cut anyone they can, since they're so overburdened.
I guess the pro is that you don't usually have to worry about it too much?
50$/month doesn't seem like much at all to make sure you get the care that you need.
