Celto-germanics in the north, celto-latin in the south.
With some heavily Germanic areas (French Flanders,Alsace..) and heavily Latin ones (French Catalonia, southeast France and Corsica)

The Franks settled majority Gallo-Romance speaking areas and were assimilated, leaving however a large influence on our language(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_French#Frankish). Technically the only descendants of the frankish language are Dutch and Flemish(if you're to consider them separate languages), Germans don't speak Fankish either and actually have less of a Frankish substrate in their language than French does. Many Frankish words in German were actually borrowed from French.
