Going by logic S2 of the anime is utter non-canon filler garbage, but it's a matter of fact that Peach Pit can't really write for shit and has always fucked up things. They kept the original manga on hold until S2 of the anime was nearing its end and let DEEN spawn a 2013 show which was a straight adaptation from the 1st part of the second season of the manga. Their other works besides Rozen Maiden are pretty much trash in every respect and they're probably even better off unadapted. It wouldn't be a surprise if they ran out of ideas with this spin-off, too.
