I've personally never had the misfortune to live somewhere without a varied market.
Grew up in San Diego county, could find just about anything anywhere. And if you know where to look you don't have to pay out the ass, too.
Indianapolis area now, little tougher but I can still find almost everything if I look hard enough. Much tougher getting any fresh seafood here though.
