Not as though the protestants hadn't warned you centuries earlier, not as though the schism with the orthodox wasn't a clue but I suppose some people are slower to the party than others. Nevertheless, humans, even those that are in positions of spiritual leadership are highly flawed and should be viewed as such and forgiven.
