there are ~500 congressmen, and about 360m americans.
so that's 0.02$ dollars in tax per american

I think the congress people should be paid as a proportion of the average person salary (probably twice the amount) . so that they are affected by their bad economic decisions

It would also be nice if they could cut down on lobbying. I think teddy wanted to do that for his 3rd term but wilson got elected because of the split vote. Teddy roosevelt also wanted to make it so the people could vote to overule supreme court decisions and laws if they were unpopular
