only way to get the lesson to stick with you is to watch/read through the work on your own. Given humanities are so downtrodden nowadays I doubt kids ever saw a play or an opera in their entire lives.

You could have the teachers guide students so they really "grocked" (heh /lit/) the material that they're are supposed to be learning. I'd guess the max classroom size for that though is about 10-15 students. Don't know about other countries but in the U.S. illegal aliens and immigrants have made the average class size 40-50 so no wonder there'a limited personal guidance.

I'd guess it's either overlooked as it's overly patriarchal and sexist history for American PC propaganda or plainly disliked by normalniggers because they think STEM and sciences are the only way to go. Humanities are extremely underrated in my country too and people choose to enroll on a whim because they don't believe their degree will end up earning them a decent income.

Yeah, schools have really lost the plot on what their function is. They pull the vocational angle all the time, but subjects that are meant to increase the intellect of citizens, like humanities, are never promoted. Basically, they're sending a message that an "education" has no value unless it can feed the consumerist machine.
