just had this dream so excuse the incorhereance of it all
there are two separate things related to ghosts that happen.
first, there a ghosts or demons or whatever that inhabit certain websites in the css but can only be accessed if you visit a parallel version of this site by going into the site's css and changing "static.1" to "static.14." these parallel sites exist similar to other darkweb sites, but can only be accessed if you change the source code of the site and reload. not how what is essentially client-side ricing changes the site as a whole, but okay. this "static.14" trick can be used on any website and gives varying results, like nineball.party spin-off not having any demons but say some german twitter hashtag having a shitton (these were examples in the dream lole). it also changes with the time of day. what these sites look like is the same as the regular website, except all pictures and viewable files on the site would be replaced with blank white or a random
composite color of the image that would be there.
now the demons? they can only be found through clicking tabs and hyperlinks, so anything that would normally be clickable. demons come in the form of strange glitchiness of the screen and the site as a whole. if you come upon a demon, you're pretty much fucked. although it's confined to the internet, you are now forever haunted by said demon for eternity. the demon does with by randomly changing the site you are currently on to the static.14 version of it and hijacking your sound (usually to just continuously play some grating garbled audio ear-rape), fucking with the site, fuck with the graphic (garbled too) and to then fuck with the files on whatever device you're using. there are also various other versions of sites using "static.[#]," the higher from 14 you go the stranger and more unknown the changes get, the potential of more dangerous demons lurking beyond, ones that can hurt you in real life, being implied
