why do cashiers ask you if you want your receipt AFTER they already printed it?
think of how much paper, printer ink and subsequently money the could save if the asked if you wanted one and only printed it if you said yes.
they can't possibly need it for bookkeeping since they give it to you or throw it away if you don't take it besides, that's probably all digital nowadays.
