Sort of. The hot and neutral feed the top terminals of the gfci receptacle. The lower terminals are the load terminals and are gfci protected, so devices fed from those terminals are also gfci protected. The "ground" they share is actually a bond to the device box.

Yeah. I guess the line and load could be top or bottom terminals, depending on the manufacturer. They'd be labelled on the gfci receptacle.
