from what I got most energizing effect comes from taurine. it's sold in pills without prescription. like I said I found no difference. Rush/Monster/Burn all have ~200mg/100ml of taurine. Drive has less and the taste is kinda acidic to me. SOVA has shit package but tastes nice and has taurine too.
if you crave caffeine, just drink black tea, the caffeine amount in energy drinks is about 2x of that in Coca-Cola/Pepsi. So, higher but not that high really.
