Other people are still able to form their own militia for self interested reasons, and those who have accumulated more wealth will have an easier time convincing people to work under their military as well as acquiring the necessary equipment.
But let's say that your voluntary military is so strong that it can topple all those threats.
Then we've returned to the problem of centralized power. How do we prevent the natural hierarchy, the populists, the wealthy, etc., from influencing said military and corrupting it from its original aim?
Well let's say everyone leaves the military whenever that happens.
Now other people can form militaries unopposed for their own purposes and efforts to create natural right defence militias will experience the same problems stated prior.
Corruption is inherent to humanity. Greed is inherent to humanity. The use of violence to satisfy greed will never end.
