Classic Disney movies almost universally copied works from other sources. Lion King for example was a direct rip off of Kimba, a Japanese work. I don’t think any Japanese furries were created by Kimba. Assuming that Disney is partially responsible for phenomena like furries, to me this posses another question. If Disney existed in Russia all of this time, would Russians have a plague of furries upon them? I would not think so. I think furries are the result of unbridled tolerance and a willingness to consider all types of people “loved and accepted.” Also, a lot of people here in the US are atheists, more so than statistics would reveal. Why would one that follows no written law of what is naturally or morally acceptable and what is not give two shits give a shit about the weird fat dude with a mental disorder on the internet? “Yeah he’s afflicted and sick but what’s the harm? Let him live his best life.” Whereas someone with a strict set of guidelines to follow (for example, the Christian bible) would naturally see such a person as unnatural. Some atheists recognize that a mental disorder is something that should be taken more seriously, that’s not always the case. Most other countries are still pretty traditional, and would generally never allow such behavior. I really don’t think Disney had much to do with it at all. If anything mass propaganda and hyper liberal universities have normalized mental disorders and underdeveloped adults.
