How long do you think the fashion for superhero movies will last? We've been through the Christopher Nolan Batman films, a few later D.C. Superman and Batman movies made, the Iron Man movies, two or three new Spiderman movies with different lead actors, and several Avengers flicks, already. Will cinema of the 2020s be characteristically different, with regards to superhero movies, or will the 2010s aesthetics continue just as strong? At the moment, superhero movies seem to be a mix of dark and light hearted tones, with no single aspect prevailing over the other, whereas the 2000s and very early 2010s movies appeared to be darker and more pessimistic.
