Yes Americans celebrate easter, however doing so is made much harder nowadays because schools (even some universities) don’t give the days prior to easter off, so students still have to do their homework and whatnot.
Here in the North though people put up some decorations and maybe invite a few people over in celebration, but not nearly as big a celebration as the fourth of july or christmas.
