but you'd be shocked if you knew how many boomers hate US here, and many younger people too. hating America and the West as a whole is pretty much associated with Russian identity here.
real talk: there was one comedian who made his whole fame by making jokes how dumb Americans were. he died of cancer not long ago. still has a cult following and is considered "a very smart" guy by many.
America is basically scapegoated by everything and lampooned. I heard my teachers claim American students can't solve basic fraction/multiplication problems, I heard others say they only like money, etc. etc. etc. There's hatred for burgers, potato chips, and other "American" food in many people—the boomers might simply look down on it but the old people will foam at the mouth with hate when they see it.
So for a large group of people, America is not the country, it's basically the devil.
