>>7894547Except neither of them addressed the question they were asked to debate, and in the end Zizek and Peterson both agreed with each other that Marxism was bad and regulated capitalism or some other indescribable alternative was good. There was no winner. No one got owned. They completely dodged the question on both sides. At no point did anyone make an argument for the support of Marxism. But since Peterson was designated as it's opponent, Zizek made some good albeit irrelevant points, and the whole of the internet has been itching for a reason to discredit him people are using this to relish in identity politics about their "side" winning and being "right". Which is ironic because they both denounce the state of identity politics.
The whole debate was an embarrassment.
The fact that people keep incessantly spouting shit about Peterson getting dabbed on makes the whole thing look propaganda for those in support of Marxism. People in the youtube chat would scream at completely unimpressive counterpoints like it was a console war and it was disturbing, like nobody understood any points that were being made but they heard some keyword and starting chimping out with their "OH NO NO NOs".
