I'm bored as shit, can someone up to date with current geopolitics give me a rough estimate of how likely it is that there will be a somewhat entertaining war in the near future?
I'm not really keeping up with the whole shebang going down in Syria but from what little I gathered it seems pretty damn boring

The closest we got to a war that could be considered “WWIII-like” would be the conflict surrounding India and Pakistan, around the start of this year. It fueled the hostility between the two nations - that, if escalated, may have seen both China and the US entering. Currently in Syria we are witnessing the downfall of ISIS, due to US baked SDF forces. It is very unlikely that the war will develop in our timeline and any future timeline due to the existence of organisations like the UN.

The Syria situation seems to be calming down gradually. The only reason it was escalated in the first place is because the US seems to be perpetually cursed with an incompetent government that thinks it's a good idea to fund religious fundamental groups instead of side with the secular sovereign government.
