if I where to get a printer now, I'd probably get a kit for cheap parts, replace the bearings, power supply, and main board and keep a budget of 500 (600 with accessories and filament) for the parts.
its an easy way of avoiding the prusa tax, while getting a debatably better board (software^2 -backlash= quality) for 200 dollars less.
